Getting Ready for Your First Session

Before your first sauna session, take a few minutes to prepare your space for the best possible experience.

  • Wipe down the interior walls and benches with a damp cloth to remove any fine wood dust that may have settled during shipping. This is completely normal and a natural characteristic of unfinished wood.
  • Ensure the room where your sauna is installed is climate-controlled and maintained at or above 68°F (20°C). This helps the sauna reach and maintain its optimal operating temperature.
  • Keep the air vent closed during most sessions to maximize heat retention. If the sauna becomes warmer than desired, you can open the vent slightly to increase airflow and adjust your comfort level.

Creating a Comfortable Sauna Ritual

A few simple habits can help protect your sauna while enhancing your overall experience.

  • Sit on a thick towel during each session and place a towel or 100% cotton mat on the floor. This helps protect the natural wood from perspiration, body oils, and everyday wear.
  • Keep a small towel nearby to gently wipe away sweat as needed. Many users find this adds comfort, especially during longer sessions.
  • After each session, leave the sauna door open for a short period to promote airflow and allow any remaining moisture to dissipate.

With these simple practices, you can help maintain the beauty of your sauna while creating a more comfortable and enjoyable wellness routine.

Temperature and Session Length

Far-infrared saunas are designed to deliver effective, therapeutic heat at lower, more comfortable temperatures than traditional saunas.

  • The recommended temperature range is 120°F–149°F (50°C–65°C). Whether you prefer a gentle warmth or a more intense heat, you can enjoy the benefits of far-infrared therapy throughout this range.
  • Most sauna sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes. If you're new to infrared sauna use, consider starting with 20–25 minute sessions and gradually increasing the duration based on your comfort and experience.
  • Stay well hydrated before and after each session, and replenish electrolytes as needed. During longer sessions, many users also find it beneficial to sip water throughout their sauna experience.

Remember, the best sauna routine is one that feels comfortable, sustainable, and enjoyable for your body.

Music and Ambiance

Pause saunas are equipped with a built-in Bluetooth audio system, allowing you to personalize your experience with calming music, guided meditations, podcasts, or soothing background sounds.

You may also choose to enjoy your sauna in complete silence. Whether accompanied by sound or enjoyed in quiet reflection, the best sauna ritual is the one that feels most comfortable and restorative to you.

Ongoing Sauna Care

Radiant Health saunas are designed to be simple and low-maintenance, requiring only occasional cleaning to keep them looking and performing their best.

  • About once a month, wipe the walls, benches, and door handles with a damp (not wet) cloth. Use plain water or a small amount of unscented natural dish soap diluted with water.
  • Clean glass surfaces with a diluted vinegar-and-water solution as needed.
  • Avoid using scented cleaners, essential oils, or harsh chemical products inside the sauna. These are unnecessary and may affect the appearance and integrity of the natural wood.

With regular care, your sauna will remain a beautiful and inviting part of your wellness routine for years to come.

Red and Near-Infrared Light

If your setup includes red light therapy products, detailed instructions and usage guidelines are available on our manuals page. Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I stay in my infrared sauna?

What temperature should I use?
Far-infrared saunas are effective at temperatures between 120°F and 149°F (50°C–65°C). Some people prefer a gentler warmth around 120°F, while others enjoy a deeper heat closer to 145°F. Choose the temperature that feels most comfortable for you—far-infrared energy remains effective throughout this range.

How do I adjust the lights and individual heaters?
Depending on your model, lighting and individual heaters including the bench skirt, bench top, and floor heaters can be adjusted using the external control panel or the mobile app.

What should I be aware of during regular use?
Like any wellness practice that raises body temperature and promotes sweating, it is important to stay hydrated and pay attention to how you feel. Maintaining adequate hydration and electrolyte balance can help support a comfortable sauna experience.

What should I do if I feel uncomfortable during a session?
If you feel lightheaded, overheated, or uncomfortable at any time, end your session, hydrate, and allow your body to cool down. Resume sauna use only when you feel fully comfortable.
